Built in New Westminster, B.C. in 1913 for Hydrographic Survey, Department of Naval Service.
Length 80 feet, 118 tons, wood construction.
Comdr. J.H. Knight was officer-in-charge of "Naden" until outbreak of world war 1 when vessel was taken over by the Canadian Navy.
